the carrot and the chocolate
another escape mechanism i've developed and refined, which lets me avoid an active participation in the advancement of modern science in general and developing new medications for cancer in particular, and explaining how i killed the rats in even more particular, this intricate mechanism is infact my very unexpected, and even more so startling, my new hobby - cooking!
despite my softened cartilage (from the chondromalacia story brought elsewhere) that is killing me very not softly when i stand in the kitchen, despite the infinite quarreling with my parents over adding peanut butter and coconut milk with a complete disregard to the russian-house-rules that do not tolerate things that we didnt eat back in Moscow, despite all the above, i pump myself with pain killers and keep producing all these exotic dishes nobody is ready to eat in my house, and especially all these cakes containing only chocolate and butter which are good only as a sugar-and-fat-knock-out and might as well be administrated directly to the blood in an infusion.
today i made an increadable carrot-cake, which preparation for a change included neither a 101 different steps nor ingredients i've never heard of (like "pastye sheets" - what the hell are these?!), not even a clue of some kind of peculiar way of baking such as putting the cake in a hot tub - just a straight forward carrot cake! ... so maybe my mother is right, maybe i should start with the simple things.... naaaaaa, today i already asked Ko to bring me the rice venigar for the "plums with tuna" salad conceived for tomorrow. at first i thought it was a bad sign that i spilled half of the bottle on the cafri's leather armchairs, but then i recalled that i stopped with the premonitions. i only hope that this perverted attraction to such a queer kitchen will not lead me to prepare an arsenic one day, since i refuse to reckon with my taste buds ...
long leave bad habits, and also the good ones, that keep us away from the things we really have to do! is it not that trying really hard to evade from doing something we get to do the other thing really good?...
btw, today's second "cake du jour", the one from the example with the hot tub, and with only chocolate and butter (and maybe some eggs too), turned to be a fiasco... but now i've got to say that i made a cake in a hot tub :)
